Welcome to Autism and University!

This site is here to support anyone interested in learning more about autism as it relates to college life, whether you're on the spectrum yourself, are the friend of someone that is, or are a family member of someone with autism. There's also a section just for university instructors so that they can better understand the unique challenges (and unexpected advantages) that autism poses at college. I was inspired to write this by my younger sister's experiences as a student with Asperger's (which is on the autism spectrum) transitioning to college - it is our hope that you can learn from our experiences and research!

This website was not intended to be a one-way experience. While the website has been approved by my sister, my hope is that you, the readers, will also contribute to it. If you have questions to be addressed or information I can add to articles, I am all too happy to do so! In fact, if you want to write your own blog or article for the website, I am also quite happy to host it. Just contact me and we'll see about adding your material. The only restrictions I have are that it must be relevant, useful, and clean.  The process of making submissions to the website is covered further in How to Use this Website (for people with ASD) and Make a Submission.

In addition, this is a growing website. I will continue adding articles to it in response to my sister's experiences at college and requests from others, so keep checking back!
