Navigating College Handbook

After I had searched for resources for ages to help my mom and my sister with the college transition (as many of you may know from experience, parents need just as much help with this as you do, if not more), I stumbled upon this handbook. It's a product of the Autistic Self Advocacy Network and quite possibly the most thorough, helpful resource that I found in my entire search; so good, in fact, that I'm devoting this entire article to it. It was also relatively hard to find, which was the reason it took me so long to stumble upon it.

To save you the effort, I'm posting the link for it here. Here's the website's own summary: "Navigating College is an introduction to the college experience from those of us who’ve been there. The writers and contributors are Autistic adults, and we’re giving you the advice that we wish someone could have given us when we  headed off to college. We wish we could sit down and have a chat with each of you, to share our experiences and answer your questions. But since we can’t teleport, and some of us have trouble meeting new people, this book is the next best thing."

It's a free download and a great read:
