Instructors

First of all, thank you for taking the time to visit this page. It means a lot that you're willing to learn about autism, and it's something that will certainly benefit your student(s) with ASD, not to mention answer some of your questions about autism. Whether or not you've taught a student with autism before, this section explains the disorder, offers teaching advice, details potential accommodations and more.

Before you visit any other page, I'd recommend you visit the Autism Explained and explore it in its entirety. If you visit no other page, it's the one that I would recommend that you visit. Not only should it be somewhat entertaining, but it's jam-packed with information to help you better understand autism. The second page I would recommend visiting above all else is the Instructor Videos page. It includes a video made specifically for understanding autism in the context of the college classroom.

Understanding Autism

In addition, if you're interested in learning more, I've adapted and expanded the sections of this website explaining autism into a website of their own - Autism Spectrum Explained. It takes the resources offered here and goes even further, so if you're interested in really understanding autism, from the facts about it to how it's portrayed in the media, check it out!
